Carmidhael Cobra 2 6x6 CrT. The newest appliance in the Manchester Airport fleet and the first to be powered by the new EU generation Caterpillar engine. Manchester was the first Airport Fire Service in the country to adopt the battenburg high vis markings on their appliances.

Carmichael Cobra 2 6x6 CrT. One of two purchased in 2001. This particular appliance is stationed at the main fire station.

Reynolds Boughton 6x6/Marlin. Delivered new in 1992. The CrT was the first Marlin to be purchased after R/Boughton's take over of Northern Counties. It was disposed of in 2006 as part of the exchange deal for the latest Carmicheal Cobra 2.

Mitsubishi L200 4x4 Rescue Tender. This appliance replaced the 1988 Reynold Boughton Apollo RT. The Scania Viper RIV carries all the hydraulic cutting gear, and this vehicle was purchased to carry all the surplus equipment.

CRASH 1; Chubb C2 Protector Rapid Intervention Vehicle, Again delivered new to Belfast City Airport, but seen here at Carlisle Airport. Both the C2 and C3 are due to be replaced by 2 Scania Viper RIVs

This rare, unregistered, Stonefield P3000 4x4 L4V is the last Stonefield to still be opperational in the UK. The appliance is no longer on the run, but remains part of the fleet and is used as an equipment carrier

Scania 124c 420/Carmichael Viper Rapid Intervention Vehicle. The appliance was delivered new in 2003 and is stationed at the main Fire Station. It's main function is to provides fire cover airside. It is seen here doing a test run down runway 23L. (Photo SH)

Gloster Saro 6x6 C3 Protector Crash Tender. The appliance was delivered to Liverpool Airport in 1990. It is seen here having just been repainted in the Airports new livery. The cab interior was also altered to replicate the Reynolds Boughton Baracuda to aid in crew training before the new appliances arrived.
